Beach Life

Updated: May 21

This is dedicated to island and beach life on the Amalfi coast and the islands around it.

Whether it is my home away from home, Ischia or Capri, Procida, Sorrento, Positano or any Amalfi Coast beach. This is what all those Instagram posts are about!

I have yet to be to some of these places. But I have definitely frequented Ischia.

These areas are calm, chill, fun places where it's a little more casual and a little more slow. Beaches are either owned by the resort, paid for or free. Each beach area is indicated by chair colors. You can tell when one ends and the other starts.

  • The beach side resort has people that can help you get some chairs and towels and may even offer beverages and snacks for purchase that usually go on your hotel bill. Just give the kid a few euros for helping.

  • Paid for beaches have chairs and umbrellas for a few euros. There is usually a small shack like building with snacks and drinks. It's a usual sight to put your clothes on the inner spokes of the umbrella, not to get sandy. Just bring your own towel. Here you can also bring your own food.

Wherever you chose, make sure not to bring to many valuables. a few euros and maybe your phone.

These are the places where you take boat tours and wine tours, dine al fresco and drink the local wine. You can drink and eat things where they are "Zero Kilometer", It comes from there and gets farmed or fished there and its on your plate. Ischia for instance, has their own amaro. Ruccolino! It's an arugula based amaro. on the Amalfi Coast, there are boat tours where the show you around and feed you lunch. SUNSCREEN is your friend. These tours are all day long but super fun! If you want to make limoncello or walk around a winery, here is where you want to do it!

Handmade Italian Ceramic shops are found all over, including painters, olive oils and any artisans. These are the best gifts because they are unique to the location. These places are the reason why I pack an extra bag. I also pack wine bags. They are bubble wrapped wine shaped reusable bags that are sealed and read to transport home. Most places are very good at packing things up to! https://amzn.to/3QXYPRZ

Here is where I wear flat sandals. Cobblestones are not my friends. I wear sunscreen during the day regardless of wheat I am doing. I use bug repellent at night. Day wear is a swimsuit and a dress like cover up and a hat. Night time, a dress and dressy flat sandals and a jacket. It can get cold at night.
