Comfy Airplane Time

Any long haul, transatlantic flight is hard. I don’t even like flights over 4 hours in general.

But to get comfy, stay comfy and maybe enjoy yourself. I like to bring a few things.

If it allows, I have a foot hammock. https://amzn.to/3wtYpMl it attaches to your seat tray and all the blood doesn’t race to my feet. I wear compression socks or stockings. https://amzn.to/3wAlL2T Sometimes I bring a blanket, sometimes I do not. Book. Earphone. Snacks. WATER. Sleep gummies. I wear a hoodie and comfy clothes. I also wear a scarf. It keeps my neck warm and sometimes acts like a blanket.

In other posts, I talk about all the accessories I bring with me. I try not to but my comfort is important. Especially if it’s a 9 hour flight.

Travel pillows. I have a love hate with these guys.

I have tried the TRTL. It wraps around your neck and has a plastic neck brace like framing. It’s okay. Not amazing but kinda does the job. It’s smaller and kinda flat so it fits in my backpack. https://amzn.to/3WLbCLw

Memory foam classic travel pillow. I like these guys. They can squish down to fit into a small bag. They are comfy BUT takes up soooo much room! And I don’t want it outside of my bag where it can touch the floor or good knows. https://amzn.to/3K1aqfk

One thing I do whenever I board a plane, I bring a bag of candy for the flight crew for each leg of my trip. It that’s my little secret. Not only is it nice. But if I need to be needy, they’re a little more forgiving. Sometimes you even get extra snacks or drinks! Customer service workers have a special place in my heart. I cannot imagine working an 9 hour flight and serving hundreds of people. And then possibly doing all over again. I have friends and family that have been flight attendants and deal with some crazy scenarios. A bag of candy or a Starbucks gift card will make their day!
